Location-Based Services Terms

1. Purpose

The purpose of these terms is to define the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of the Company and the User regarding the use of location-based services provided by TurnPointLabs for the Our Folio application.

3. Service Contents & Fees

The Company provides the following location-based services for free (subject to mobile carrier data fees defined by your service provider):

1) Archive Location Tags: Automatically extract location GPS metadata embedded in uploaded photos/videos or manually tag places with custom place labels.

2) Map Visualization: Display uploaded photos and videos on responsive maps (at coordinates) selectively shared with your specific group circles.

3) Spatial Search/Filter: Organise and filter private memory libraries by geographical places, categories, or calendar views.

4. Retention of Service Records

According to Article 16, Section 2 of South Korea's Act on the Protection and Use of Location Information, the Company automatically records and preserves the fact/confirmation data regarding collects, uses, and provisions of location information. This log history is retained securely for a period of at least 6 (six) months before deletion.

5. Provisions to Third Parties & Device Notifications

The Company does not disclose or provide personal location information to any third parties without your explicit prior consent.

If the Company provides location information to a third party designated by the user, the Company shall immediately notify the user through the registered communication terminal or the registered email on each occurrence regarding the recipient, date/time, and purpose of the provision.

6. Rights of Guardians of Children Under 8

The Company complies with Article 26 of the Act. For children under 8, persons under adult guardianship, or mentally disabled persons under the Act on Welfare of Persons with Disabilities, if their legal guardians/protectors consent in writing to the use/provision of location information for the protection of their life or body, it is deemed that the user has consented.

7. User Rights and Controls

1) Revoking Consent: You can withdraw some or all of your coordinates/location permission at any time. Turning off location settings in the app or operating system (iOS/Android) blocks location tracking.

2) Requesting Cessation: You can request temporary suspension of location collection and processing.

3) Access and Rectification: You may request to review or correct confirmation records of location uses, or personal location data stored by the Service.

To safeguard location tracking information and resolve dispute complaints, we maintain a dedicated designation:

9. Dispute Resolution

Regarding disputes that cannot be settled amicably between the Company and the User, the parties may submit a petition/mediation request to the Korea Communications Commission (KCC) or the Korea Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee (KISA) for resolution.
